Lonnie Eugene Battist Sr. was born on November 8, 1954, to the late Edna and Joseph Battist of Houston, TX. He was a graduate of Forest Brook High School. At an early age he accepted Jesus Christ his savior, lord, and master and was baptized in Houston, TX.
Lonnie dedicated 22 years of his life to Anchor Glass Container Corp- Houston, TX where he served as a Journeyman electrician. He also dedicated 20 years of his life to Anheuser-Busch (longhorn glass) where he served as a maintenance technician.
In 1995 Lonnie was later introduced to the love of his life, where he proposed a week later to Roxana and a month later on August 19, 1995, they joined Holy matrimony in Lake Charles, La. Together they shared 25 years together.
He was preceded in death by his parents Edna and Joseph Battist and grandbaby Javon Citizen.
He leaves a lifetime of love, hope, and memories to his devoted wife, Roxana Battist. Three devoted children Lonnie E. Battist Jr, Kela Citizen, and Dadrick Citizen. He was surrounded with the love of all of his grandchildren; Ayana, Keon, Dadrick Jr, Jamariae, Amya, Mykah and Zaiden. He also leaves behind his five siblings Willie Battist (June), Exixie Rice (Jeff), Dexixie Neal, Rennie Battist (Lajune), Qali Jones (Richard), Jimmy Battist (Alese) and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
