He graduated from the Second Ward High School in Gloster, Louisiana. He was employed by Exxon Mobile Mundy for 24 years, but had to retire due to his illness.
Lonnie me and married his “true love”, Ethel Adams on December 29, 1993 and united with the Bethlehem MBC of Houston under the leadership of the late, Dr. M.L. Jackson and continued to serve faithfully under the leadership of Reverend Mose A. Jones. He was an ordained Deacon, a member of the Brotherhood and Male Chorus. Despite his health challenges, he remained a faithful supporter sending his tithes and supporting the ministries he was a member of.
His father-Columbus Adams, Jr.: mother-Hattie Layton Adams; sister- Caroline Williams; two brothers- Earnest Adams and Lawrence Adams preceded him in death.
Lonnie departed this earthly home on Sunday, May 3, 2015. We are grateful that Lonnie fell asleep on this side, but woke up in the presence of the Lord.
He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving wife, Ethel Adams; two sons, Daymon Adams (Gwendolyn) and Cordell Hollomon (Deatry); one brother Columbus Adams, III (Wilma); six grandchildren; one special sister-in-law, Margaret Simmons; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and the entire Bethlehem Church Family.
