Lloyd Eugene Pape

Lloyd Eugene Pape was born May 13, 1929 in San Antonio, Texas to Eugene Gustav Pape and Paula Wehe Pape. He passed away on November 29, 2018 in Houston, Texas. Lloyd is survived by his children, Charles Pape, Pauline and Bob Mertensotto, Lynda and John Harrell, Karen Pape and Jim Hawkins, Lori Pape and Jayne Scott; grandchildren, Jennifer and Eric Beal, Jonathan Pape, Kyle and Parker Mertensotto, Christopher and Grace Harrell; and great-grandchildren, Emily and Hudson Beal and Alannah Pape. Raised on a cattle ranch, Lloyd grew up riding horses, tending cattle, and roping and riding in rodeos. As a radarman in the Navy, Lloyd traveled the world operating radar, navigation and communications equipment on the destroyer U.S.S. Damato. He was lovingly married for 54 years to Betty Pape and together raised 5 children. He studied Architecture at the University of Texas and as founder and principal of his own architectural firm, Lloyd was well known for his detailed expertise on commercial and educational buildings and roofing projects for over 40 years. He was a member of American Institute of Architects and practiced architecture in Louisiana and Texas.

Service will be Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Texas Liberty Mausoleum and Heritage Chapel, Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77079 at 11:00am, interment following service.
