Lisa was born in St. Louis, Missouri, to parents Roger and Betty Wildhaber, the third of four children. Her childhood was spent in St. Louis, Chicago, Nashville, and finally Houston.
She graduated from Westbury High School (‘82) then attended Southwest Texas State University and University of Houston to earn her Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a minor in Psychology (‘86).
While working towards her degree, she met her husband, Greg Drum, in July ‘84 and they were married in October ‘87. They started their family in Spring Branch with their two sons, Marshall (‘91) and Dylan (‘97), and shortly after made their family home in Cypress. They were married for over 35 years sharing many laughs over fajita dinners and family game nights.
She worked in commercial real estate for over 25 years, starting as an administrative assistant and earning her way to property manager. In alignment with this role, she earned and maintained her real estate license for the last 10 years.
She was an engaged volunteer at the Houston Rodeo for nearly 15 years where she made many friends serving on the Gatekeepers Committee.
She was committed to her family and always served as their number one fan. She enjoyed traveling to destinations such as Holland, Germany, Switzerland, Fiji, and several destinations in the Caribbean, Hawaii, and Mexico accompanying her husband on sailing trips. She was a devoted baseball mom for 15 years and supported her boys in all their activities and interests.
She loved spending quality time with her friends and family. She had a tight knit group of lifelong friends, Tricia Cartwright, Kelley Gorski, Kim Smith, and Tammy Winkler. She cherished time on Lake Travis at Rick & Jayne’s lake house, family vacations to Destin, and girls’ trips to NYC and the “Bay Shack”. She always stressed the importance of time together to celebrate life’s moments, gathering friends and family for every birthday, holiday, or special occasion. She was the glue that held everyone together and she led by example to keep everyone’s connections strong and happy.
She was diagnosed with cancer in October 2021 and fought through several rounds of treatment and surgery. She was brave and strong until the very end, always maintaining a positive attitude and optimistic hope that lifted her family’s spirits.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions in Lisa's honor be directed to ACPMP (Appendix Cancer Pseudomyxoma Peritonei Research Foundation) or to a charity of your choice.
