She was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 14, 1948, to Dwight and Zelma (Heatlie) BeDell.
Linda grew up in Royal Oak, Michigan and graduated from Michigan State University in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education.
She married Frank Knight Sr. in 1974 and moved to Houston, Texas where she worked as a technical writer and marketing director for several oil companies in the Houston area. She loved to travel, her work took her to Russia, Turkey, England, and Scotland.
She was a very talented musician and played flute and piano. She was also a member of the Houston Horizon Chorus and the Woodland Show Chorus where she performed at many regional and international competitions. She was also a member of several quartets over the years and loved to compete and perform at local events in the greater Houston area.
She had a passion for fishing, golf, and cooking, and had developed a family recipe book to share with those she loved.
She is survived by her children Frank (Cookie) Knight Jr. of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Steven Knight of Houston, TX, and Sherie Ratliff of Nashville, TN. She is also survived by her grandson Michael Knight of Conroe, TX, sister, Pamela (Dennis) Iacco of Mount Pleasant, Michigan, numerous other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and cousins.
A CELEBRATION OF LIFE will be held at Brookside Funeral Home – Champion, 3410 Cypress Creek Parkway, Houston, TX 77068 on Saturday, January 29th, 2022.
Service will be held from 1pm – 2pm / Reception to follow 2pm – 4pm
