Linda Marie (Brown) Grayson peacefully passed away Sunday April 12th at home, in Katy, surrounded by her loving family. Linda was born on November 3rd 1948 in Cleveland, Texas to Billy Ray Brown and Norene (Martin) Brown.
Linda grew up in North Houston with her parents, brother, and many family and friends. She graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1966. She married fellow Sam Houston High School alumni of 1965, Mike Grayson in August of 1968. They moved to North Carolina for a couple of years while Mike served in the USMC at Camp LeJeune. They moved back to Texas with a new baby in tow. Four years later, they had their second child. They moved to Katy, Texas four years later, in 1978, and have never moved out of the area. Linda was a stay at home mom for many years then worked for KISD at West Memorial Junior High for a time. She’s been a housewife since. She was the center of our family. Linda planned many family trips and always made every occasion wonderful. We vacationed and visited with their dear friends from high school, the Coates and Tidwell’s for as long as I can remember and mom cherished those times together. She became a grandmother in 2010 to Max. She loved her family beyond measure. Linda always loved and took care of us and would fight for our happiness. She was a strong woman, a bit feisty, and always had a great sense of humor. In later years, Linda took care of her husband who has Alzheimer’s. It was not an easy time, but she persevered. She loved unconditionally and was by my father’s side until the day she passed away. It took all her strength to fight a liver disease for over eight years. Sadly, her body grew tired and after a day surrounded by family for Easter, she passed away on April 12, 2020.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, James “Mike” Grayson, her eldest daughter Jamie Grayson, and her youngest daughter Karen Grayson-Kostor and her husband David Kostor, also Max (her eldest daughter’s son), as well as her brother Ray Brown and wife Bonnie. She was preceded in death by her parents Billy Ray Brown and Norene (Martin) Brown (formerly of Sealy, Texas) and father/mother in-laws, James E Grayson and Willie (“Tedd”) Craddock-Grayson (formerly of Bogata, Texas, then Houston, Texas). She loved and was loved by many friends and family. We will miss her dearly, but never forget her.
Due to Coronavirus, we will be scheduling a memorial service at a later date. Her immediate family will gather for her burial on April 16, 2020. In lieu of flowers, plants or notes of condolences are preferred.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.memorialoaksfunerals.com for the Grayson family.
