Linda graduated from Jack Yates High School in 1967 and grew up in Third Ward. Linda was blessed with ten children, five girls and five boys.
Linda loved spending time with her family and friends. She was the life of the party. Everyone knew and loved her. Linda never let her disability discourage her from doing anything. She loved talking on the phone and watching her old cowboy movies. She loved her music. She loved sitting outside and being pushed down the streets for walks with Pauline, Joseph and Andre. She was very known in Sunnyside as “Gangsta Granny”. She loved all her children in their own special way.
She was called home to glory on the morning of November 9th, 2022.
Linda was preceded in death by her father, Gus Edwards, her mother, Mary Keelen-Edwards, two of her sons were deceased at birth, her sister Loretta Rose Edwards-Bembry, who passed away on November 9th, 2008 and her funeral was on November 19th, 2008. Same dates as Linda.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her children, Regeneina Edwards-Green and son in law Joseph Green Jr. as she calls him”Big Joe”, Pauline, Joseph, Andre and Mary Edwards (all of Houston, TX), Michael Edwards White and Claira Edwards White (both from Beeville, TX) Coralee Edwards Bellow (from Newark, DE). Sixteen grandchildren, two nieces Elisia Bembry and Elania Bembry-Addison, one nephew Eric Bembry all from Houston, TX, several step siblings, three great nieces, two great nephews, a host of great great nieces and great great nephews and other relatives and dear friends.
