On Tuesday, September 6, 2022, Linda Schulze Colby, a loving wife and mother of two, passed away into the arms of God at age 52. Linda was of the Christian Faith and attended the Lutheran Church throughout her childhood. Linda graduated from Giddings High School with honors, and then earned her BA in Business Administration, majored in Marketing at Sam Houston State University and spent over 28 years in the field of professional sales and marketing while representing a variety of products and services.
She met the love of her life, Wes Colby of Round Top, Texas in her hometown of Giddings, Texas during the summer of 1986. After dating for 6 years together and completing their respective college degrees at the same time, Linda and Wes were married in 1992 at the Martin Luther church in Giddings. They moved to Houston, Texas immediately thereafter and started their young lives working hard and dreaming of home ownership and professional success. They both entered the profession of sales and marketing and never looked back.
About seven years later, their only son, Skyler Colby was born and then three years later their only daughter, Mikayla Colby was born.
Linda was best known for her funny wit and infectious joy-filled laughter. She was a light walking into any room and absolutely loved her family and extended family more than anything else in this world. She loved laughing, listening to music, and vacationing around the world - especially the tropics and could never have enough time relaxing by a beach or a nice swimming pool. She is survived by her husband, Wes Colby, and their two children, Skyler and Mikayla Colby all three of whom live in Tomball and Spring, Texas. Linda is also survived by her parents, James and Barbara Schulze of Giddings, Texas; Wes’s parents Rich and Linda Colby of Killeen, Texas; her two brothers and their wives, Robert and Cathy Schulze of Ft. Worth, Texas and Tim and Trish Schulze of Hallettsville, Texas and her sister and brother-in-law, Cathy and David Eggers of Spring, Texas.
Linda is preceded in death by both of her grandparents, Paul and Leona Spitzenberger of Giddings and Gerhard and Bertha Schulze of Lincoln, Texas.
Linda’s Celebration of Life service will be held at 1pm Monday, September 12th at Brookside Funeral Home, 9149 Hwy 6 North, Houston, Texas 77095. Viewing and visitation will begin at 11am. Her graveside service will be held immediately afterwards at Prairie Lee cemetery in Brenham, Texas.
In lieu of giving flowers, the family asks that those who are able to instead make a kind, heartfelt donation to Samaritan’s Purse at www.SamaritansPurse.org.
