Lilian was born on September 25, 1929, in Cuba. She married her beloved husband Julio on April 10, 1955. They owned and operated their own business, Casa Julio, in Sagua La Grande, Cuba.
Lilian and Julio, along with their two daughters, left Cuba in 1969 and established a beautiful community of friends and loved ones in Houston, Texas. The Alvarez’ were always socializing, bringing the Cuban spirit with them everywhere they went. You could always find Lilian in the middle of the party with the brightest lips and highest heels. She had a kind smile, impressive dance moves, and she was proud to become an American citizen in 2016.
Lilian was preceded in death by her parents, and then her beloved husband in 2012. She was blessed and loved, and will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
She is survived by her two daughters, Lilly Rust and husband C.B. of Fort Worth, Texas, and Diana Sawyer and husband Danny of the Woodlands, Texas, as well as grandchildren Danny and Tina White, Joshua and YoonMi McQueary, Caleb and Jody McQueary, Brandi and Jordan Murphy, and great-grandchildren Mason, Abbey, Tanner, Jude, Oliver, Jin, and Lena, and one great, great granddaughter Bri’Elle.
