Leticia Villarreal, age 62, of Houston, Texas passed away on Tuesday December 21, 2021. She was born on March 16, 1959 in El Carmen, NL Mexico. Leticia went to school in Chicago, IL and later in Mexico where she successfully completed her education as a bilingual secretary. She worked as a teacher at an institute in Mexico before moving to Houston, TX with her husband Benito Villarreal Sr. She was a member of Assumption Catholic Church and St. John Neumann Catholic Church.
Leticia was an outspoken individual with a tough spirit and a strong personality that everyone loved. She had a very special gift from God, a special heart and special love that everyone wants from a mother. She was also very passionate about teaching our youth the word of God. She volunteered in religious education and served as a teacher’s aide at Assumption Catholic Church and Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church. She also assisted St. Vincent de Paul Organization in using the teachings of Christ to shape a more compassionate society. Leticia was also very passionate about her children’s education and volunteered at school events in support of their education. To Leticia, family and serving God were the most important things to her. She especially loved family gatherings with her husband, children, son and daughter-in-law, and her grandchildren.
Leticia is preceded in death by her parents Juan and Gregoria Montemayor, her brother Margarito Montemayor, and her husband Benito Villarreal Sr.
She is survived by her children Benito Villarreal Jr., Melissa Villarreal-Castro, her grandchildren, Anthony and Adrian Villarreal, and by her sisters Gloria Rosales, Martha Garza, Aida Montemayor, and Aleyda Montemayor.
Pallbearers: Benito Villarreal Jr., Joe Garza, Jerry Leal, Eliseo Castro, Ricardo Castro, and Oscar Vargas Sr.
A visitation for Leticia will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. Services will be held Saturday, January 8, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Assumption Catholic Church, 901 Roselane St. Houston, TX 77037 with a burial following at Brookside Memorial Park.
