Lawrence Guillory

Lawrence “Bug” Guillory, 77, went to be with the Lord and Savior peacefully in his home on August 17, 2017. Lawrence was born in Grand Coteau, Louisiana on December 3, 1939 to parents Alice and Ophe Guillory. After graduating high school, He attended Grambling University on an academic scholarship.

Lawrence was married to Maria Guillory (Partida) on July 6, 1967. They were married for 50 years. Lawrence retired from the Firestone Retread plant located in Houston, TX. He continued to work after retirement where he was currently working at Wal-Mart for the last 14 years. He enjoyed working but more importantly, his faith and spending time with family were the most important things in his life. He loved to cook and loved being outdoors.

Lawrence is survived by his wife, Maria Guillory and son, Ernest Guillory; brothers include Percy Guillory, Curly Guillory; sisters include Irma Fontenot and Leona Eaglin; Grandchildren include Ja’Ceanna Guillory, Karen Cavazos, Victor Fields; great grandchildren include Ashley Oswald, Valery Holguin, Celeste Cavazos, Christian Cavazos as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Lawrence is preceded in death by his parents; three children Elvia Holguin, Robert Montez and James Montez; eight siblings include Leroy Guillory, Otis Guillory, Carlton Guillory, Patrick Guillory, Ophe Guillory, Joseph Guillory, Delores Lemelle and Leola Williams.

Funeral services will be held starting with a visitation at 9:00am, with a funeral mass following at 10:00am at the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 1111 St. Joseph Street, Houston, TX 77002. Burial will be at Brookside cemetery located at 13747 Eastex Fwy, Houston, TX 77039. Brookside Funeral Home are handling all arrangements.
