On May 1st, 1965, Larry Williams was born to Ike Turner and Margaret Williams. A life-long resident of Houston’s Third Ward, he matriculated through Dunbar Elementary School, Ryan Middle School, and Jack Yates Senior High School, graduating in 1986.
Larry accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized under the leadership of Rev. N.C. Crain at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, located at 2222 Gray Street, in Houston, Texas.
Larry was a dedicated employee of Texas Children’s Hospital Facilities Operations Team for over twenty years, where he received numerous awards and accolades over the years. Most recently, on September 14th, 2022, he was presented with a Celebration Award highlighting his “patience, commitment, adaptability, and for the many hats he wore” there at Texas Children’s. Despite his illness and faithful to his work, he would continue come to work daily up until just a few days before his passing.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Williams; father, Ike Turner; aunts, Creola Snipe-Williams, Mariah James, Betty Coleman, Delores Davis and Uncle Alton James.
He leaves behind his four siblings, Malcolm, Marilyn, Issac, and Marion Williams; nephews & nieces Alexander (Randi) Williams, Olivia Victorian, Michael (Brittany) Berryman, Janette Williams, Ieshia Williams, & Denzel Williams, and God-Children Aliana & Alexander Williams II, numerous cousins, and last but certainly not least his extended family at Texas Children’s Hospital and the many close friends who will all cherish his life.
