Arthur Laurence "Larry" Barton passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2019, in Round Rock, Texas. Larry grew up in Fort Worth, where he attended Catholic high school and was a member of the schools basketball and track teams. He received a bachelor of business degree from the University of Texas - Permian Basin. He leaves behind his loving wife, Lorraine (Grazioli) Barton of 45 years and two sons, John and David.
Larry served in the United States Army for 3 years, stationed at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas, and remained close friends with his army buddies from Fort Bliss for the remainder of his life. Larry went on to become a Certified Public Accountant which lead him to Midland, Texas to work as an auditor for Main LaFrentz and Company and later President of Abbott Building Company.
Larry was a life long photographer and opened up his own photo processing store, One Hour Moto Photo in Enfield, Connecticut. Larry and his family returned to Texas and worked as an auditor for the Texas Workforce Commission in Austin, Texas, and retired from there.
In addition to being an avid photographer, Larry loved playing a round of golf or sitting at the table enjoying a game of Bridge with friends. He was a lover of musicals and old movies, loved to travel, enjoying the impromptu trip to Lake Charles to sit at the Pai Gow table or sitting under a Palapa in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, watching the waves.
Larry was a member of the Association of International Certified Public Accountants and the Midland Jaycees during his years his family lived in Midland.
He is survived by his wife Lorraine, his two sons John (Laura) and David (Lauren), two granddaughters Emily and Stevie, a half brother Dan Broughton of Seattle, Washington, and a half sister, Glenda Kallman, of Denton, Texas.
