May 27, 1933 – October 11, 2023
Lana, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2023 surrounded by her devoted family. Born on May 27, 1933, in Canton, China, she was the third child in a family of 10 siblings. She successfully completed medical school. Although life circumstances prevented her from pursuing a formal medical career, she never relinquished her insatiable thirst for knowledge and unwavering passion for the field of medicine. Lana's life was a remarkable journey marked by dedication, love, compassion, and an unwavering pursuit of knowledge. Lana and her husband, immigrated to the United States with their four children in the 1970s to provide their children a better future.
Lana was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Sam, and their four children and spouses: Bill and Lynn, Vivien and Ming, Ben and Janet, Vincent and Alice. Lana is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, who were a source of endless joy and inspiration to her: Aaron, Olivia, Isabelle, Joshua, Alex, Caleb, Elizabeth-Grace, and Austin.
Lana's family was the cornerstone of her world, and her love for them knew no boundaries. She played an active role in her grandchildren’s lives. She was there to care for them, to support them, and to be a pillar of strength as they took their first steps in the world. Her warmth and boundless love created lasting memories that will forever be etched in their hearts.
Within the hearts of her family, Lana will forever be remembered as a caring and forgiving soul, always ready to extend a helping hand and share the depths of her knowledge. Her legacy endures through the love, wisdom, and compassion she bestowed upon all who had the privilege of knowing her. Lana’s memory will continue to shine brightly in the lives of her family and all who were lucky enough to cross her path. May she find eternal peace.
