Keith Nathan Symmank was born February 21, 1962 to Mildred and Clarence Symmank in Houston, TX. The middle of three brothers, Keith was ever funny. He enjoyed telling humorous stories and would playfully jab and joke with family and friends, often recalling past shared hijinks. Keith had a love of music that included both playing the guitar for a brief time and playing a form of deejay at family holiday gatherings from his vehicle. He was quite the tinkerer and would often fix broken electronics or learn how to build new things, the love of which took him into his career of PC board repair. In later years, his tinkering hobby developed into building models that he displayed in his garage. For several years he was in a bowling league with his younger brother, Christopher, and nephew, Jonathan, as well as a few friends. Of course, his favorite way to pass time was to watch Houston and Texas sports teams, namely the Astros, Texans, UT Longhorns and college football. He could often be found sporting a shirt representing one of his beloved teams.
Like both of his brothers, Keith was both baptized and later confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in the Houston Heights. His confirmation took place on April 11, 1976, with a few of his cousins confirmed in the same class, Pastor R.G. Friedrichs officiating. He attended Immanuel Lutheran School through 8th grade, Hamilton Middle School in 9th grade and graduated from S.P. Waltrip in Class of 1980.
Keith was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Tracy Ryan Symmank, and his mother, Mildred Irene Symmank. He is survived by his father, Clarence V. Symmank. He is also survived by his older brother, Allan Anthony Symmank & sister-in-law, B. Colleen Symmank, as well as their two daughters and their families, Amanda Symmank & her boyfriend, Dale Snead, and Tiffany (Symmank) Vaughn & her husband, Daniel Vaughn, and their son & Keith’s great-nephew, Marshal Vaughn; his younger brother, Christopher Vincent Symmank, and Christopher’s son, Jonathan Christopher Symmank; as well as various aunts, uncles, cousins and other family and friends.
Keith passed away in the early hours of October 7, 2024 at home. There will be a visitation Monday, October 14th at Heights Funeral Home with a memorial service immediately following at noon. His interment will be at Memorial Oaks Cemetery at 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX following the memorial service at Heights Funeral Home.
