Kay G. Melton

Kay G. Melton born October 7, 1954 in Little Rock, Arkansas, entered into eternal life on March, 26, 2013 in Houston, Texas. Kay was a true and enduring soldier and servant of Jesus Christ. Like the Apostle Paul, she fought a good fight, she finished the race, she kept the faith. Henceforth, there is laid up for her a crown of righteousness, which the Lord the righteous Judge should give her at that day. Predeceased by her parents, Vester & Rosie Lee Gilmore; brother, Franklin "VJ" Gilmore & sisters, Deloris Earlie & Rosie Lynn Hines. Left to cherish Kay's memory is her loving husband, Carl Melton, Sr.; daughter, LaKeisha D. Melton; son, Carl Melton II; sister, Eredean Lyons (Willie D. Lyons); twin brother, Rev. Keith Gilmore, Sr. (Kayreen Gilmore); mother-in-law, Delores Hodge; sister-in-law, Jean Randle; numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces & nephews, Aunts, Uncles, friends & loved ones. Visitation will be 5pm-9pm on Friday, April 5, 2013 at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. Visitation from 10am-11am followed by Homegoing Services at 11am on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Miles Chapel C.M.E. Church, 4315 Lyons Ave., Houston, TX 77020. Interment will follow in the Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
