Kathleen Marie Crabtree died in her home on March 19, 2021, at the age of 73, joining the love of her life and husband of more than 50 years, Glenn Crabtree, in Heaven for a glorious reunion. Kathy was born in Joliet, Illinois on October 13, 1947, to Leo and Marie Landry. As a kid, the family moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where she graduated from St. Pius X High School in 1965. While at high school, through her big brother Phillip Landry, she met a young man named Glenn Crabtree. Despite some initial reservations from their first date, the two eventually got married on June 4, 1966, and stayed together for more than 50 years. Glenn and Kathy were inseparable raising a family and community through their life adventures.
After all three of her children were born in Kansas City, Kathy and the family moved to New Orleans, Louisiana, before settling down committed roots in Humble, Texas in 1976 when F.M 1960 was a sleepy two-lane rural road. In Humble, she was always the cheerleader, chief sympathizer, and fan of her three children. She and her husband were steady attendees of almost every ball game, concert, or performance for their children. In addition to being a devoted and loving mother to her three kids, Kathy was known for opening her home to friends and neighbors at every opportunity and always made sure to have a stocked fridge for any visitor.
As her kids got older, Kathy returned to work in a variety of clerical roles with Atascocita Middle School. Both Glenn and she reached their goals of early retirement to continue their adventure of travel, senior softball for Glenn, and visiting friends and family as much as they could. They both remained devoted fans of all of their adopted hometown's sports teams rarely missing a game on TV.
Kathy was a faithful member of St. Phillip's Catholic Church in Huffman, Texas for more than 40 years. Kathy also joined her friends at the Humble Area Retired Teachers Association, her bowling league, and the Humble Senior Center for camaraderie, games, support, bunko, and trips.
Kathy was always the quintessential selfless and nurturing mother to her children, her grandchildren, their friends, and was always a welcome host to all of the family’s dogs at any time. She was an incredibly positive, gentle, and kind person always ready with a smile. She will be dearly missed by friends and family.
Kathy was preceded in death by her loving husband Glenn Crabtree; and her parents Patrick Leo Landry and Marie Voet Landry. Kathy is survived by her daughter Stacy Koscinski; her son Lance Crabtree; her son Travis Crabtree and wife Karla Crabtree; her sister Patricia Landry Baranowski; her brother Phillip Landry and his wife Joan Landry; her five grandchildren, Chris Koscinski, Colin Crabtree, Luke Crabtree, Kate Crabtree, and Charlie Crabtree; and her two great-grandchildren, Caleb Koscinski and Chase Koscinski.
