She was born in New Orleans, LA on October 10, 1932 and raised in Beaumont, Texas by her mother, Kathleen Cawley Jackson. She graduated from St. Thomas University and began her teaching career in Hamshire-Fannett schools. She left teaching to raise her three sons with the love of her life, Richard (Dick) M. Airey. His jobs took them to Corpus Christi, San Antonio, and eventually settling in Houston in 1975.
Kathleen was the most FANATICAL Notre Dame Fighting Irish football fan there ever was and she also loved her Texas Aggies and Houston Astros. She would answer no phone calls and allowed no talking during games, so she wouldn't miss anything. She loved her family, her girlfriends from High School in Beaumont and her many friends that she made throughout the years.
She is preceded in death by her husband Dick, their daughter Colleen Cawley Airey, and her mother Kathleen. Kathleen is survived by her three sons, R. M. (Rick) Airey Jr. and his wife Melanie Landers of San Antonio, Daniel E. Airey and his wife Mary Ann of Austin, and Scott M. Airey and his wife Janice Airey of Montgomery. She is also survived by her grandchildren whom she adored; Jim Airey and his wife Erin, Annabel, Gabriel, and Maya Airey, Jama Davis and her husband Mark Davis. There are also her great grandchildren Maddison Machart, Zowie and Avery Davis, and her countless cousins in Ireland and Great Britain.
