Julie Gay Courtney Castillo

Julie was born in Houston, Texas on April 25, 1967. As a young child, Julie attended Long Point Baptist School. She attended Northbrook Junior High and Northbrook High School. Julie was a gifted athlete, and participated in both soccer and softball. She played softball for many years at the Spring Branch Sports Association, where her dad was her coach, and they enjoyed many winning games together. Julie loved her family, her pets, helping at her church, and her friends. She worked as a personal care assistant for people that were elderly and sick.

Julie is survived by, her husband, Richard Castillo, their children, Eddie and Elizabeth Castillo and her mother, Diane Courtney, all of Houston; her father, Jerry Courtney and his wife Judy, of Lubbock, Texas; her sister, Jackie Chapman and her children Tyler and Delaney Chapman, all of Katy, Texas; her stepsister, Tina Hernandez and her husband Albert Jr. of Lubbock, and stepbrother, Nick A. Moutos, of Austin, Texas, as well as many other loving family members and friends.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Julie's life during a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 24th in the sanctuary of Long Point Baptist Church, 8009 Long Point Road in Houston 77055, (713) 554-8808. A reception will follow at the church until 4:00 p.m.
