Joyce "Renee" Roy was born on March 1, 1953 in Chicago, IL. God blessed her with a double portion of love by giving her two sets of parents: Renee Moore & Albert Bacquie (her birth parents) and Willie Mae & Eldridge (Jim) Henry (her adoptive parents) who all loved her dearly. Renee was raised by Willie Mae & Jim in a Christian home Beaumont, Texas where she attended West Tabernacle Baptist Church. As she blossomed into a beautiful young woman, her outgoing personality and love for beauty & fashion became more apparent. After attending both Chenier Business College and John Robert Powers School of Modeling, she went on to become a professional model. She excelled in both print and fashion/runway modeling with some of her work including Jet Magazine, Texas State Optical and various fashion shows. Renee's explosive personality even led her to successfully produce and star in a one-woman fashion show. Her passion for beauty continued to expand as she became a licensed cosmetologist. Renee married her loving husband, Carl Roy in August of 1986 and together they raised two beautiful daughters - Terinee & Tara. A strong woman of God, Renee loved and trusted God more than anything. She had the type of faith that moved mountains. Her faith anchored her family throughout her lifetime. And the compassion she had motivated her to constantly seek opportunities to pray and stand in faith with others, even as she battled cancer in her own body. Renee was a fun-loving, bubbly woman who was full of energy and never turned down a chance to spend time with loved ones. Her love, laugh, smile and faith will continue to warm the hearts of all who loved her. She is preceded in death by birth mother, Renee Moore, her adoptive parents, Willie Mae & Jim Henry, her best friend, Linda Collins and other loved ones. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Carl Roy, her birth father, Albert Bacquie, her daughter, Tara Roy, her daughter and son-in-law, Terinee (and Quenton) Bonds, her Aunt, Marka Bjai, her sisters Toni Bacquie and Debra Warren, her special companion during her illness, Yoko (her puppy) and a host of family and friends.
