On March 15, 1963, Joseph OGilvie was born the sixth from parents of late Orange Lee OGilvie and Alzada OGilvie. Joseph was the baby boy of five older sisters, an eldest brother, and triplet younger sisters.
Joseph graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1981 and attended the University of Houston briefly for further education.
Joseph met and married his wife Regina Harrison of 35 years and was blessed with three beautiful daughters, Jasmine Williams (DayLeon Sr), Jade Phillips (John) and Jenae OGilvie. Joseph always gave glory to God and was a member of Bibleway Church of Holiness from youth through his adult life. He always loved and adored his family.
He worked devotedly at Albemarle Corporation for 34 years. He was an excellent employee with safety being his tip top priority. He was highly acclaimed in first-class machinery, inspection, and safety. He made many friends and acquaintances while working.
Joseph leaves behind his wife Regina, three daughters and bonus daughter Danesha. Along with his five grandchildren DayLeon Jr, Jermaine, Aydin, Tristan, and Grayson. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, Lykethia , Erica, Regina, Kewana, Ashley, LaVonne and nephews, Robert Jr, Steven Sr, Samuel Jr, Brian Sr, and Terrance.
Joseph was preceded in death by his father Orange Lee OGilvie, and his triplet sisters, Shirley OGilvie, Sheila Bisor and Charlotte OGilvie.
He also leaves behind his siblings Calzada (Felton), Robert (Sandra),
Willie-Jean (O’Neal), Diane (Samuel), Betty-Jo (Raymond Jr), Janet (Reginald), and Sheila* (Parrish).
Joseph was called to his everlasting rest on Wednesday, January 31, 2024. He was a loving husband, devoted father, and excellent provider. His legacy will live on forever.
