John Raymond Thomas

John “Sonny” “Tex” Raymond Thomas passed in the presence of family May 8, 2018 at age 78. Memorial services honoring Sonny Thomas will be held 10am May 12th, 2018 at Brookside Funeral Home 9149 Highway 6 North, Houston, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the Dominican Sisters of Houston.

Sonny Thomas was born December 26th, 1939 to Raymond John and Dorothy Edna Thomas in Houston. Sonny began his US Navy career in 1958, during which he served aboard the USS Everglades before Honorable Discharge in 1963. On September 3rd, 1961 Sonny married Connie Tarantino. Sonny’s hobbies included playing golf, poker, and he found great joy in cooking for his ever-growing family. Further, he loved spending time with his four Grandchildren and five Great-grandchildren.

In passing, John Raymond Thomas joins great-grandson Lucas Sharp, and his very best friend Frank “Junior” Tarantino Jr.. He is survived in death by wife Connie Rose Thomas, son Salvatore (Dina) and daughter Donna; grandchildren Kristin(Brad), Lauren (Christopher), Tabetha (Caleb) and Ashley; Great-grandchildren Tatum, Westin, Piper, and Penelope. Mr. Thomas is survived also by cousins Connie and Joe Tucker, Sister Sylvia Guzman, and was a friend of Bill W..
