He was born in Lamar, Colorado on November 15, 1929.
He was married to Agnes Dyson Hacker for 58 years and Nona Martin Hacker for 6 years.
John worked as a Lithographer for the Navy for 20 years, as an estimator for Moore Paper Company for 21 years and BMP for 3 years.
He traveled the world and lived a long full life with no lingering years of debilitating health.
He is survived by his three Daughters; Christine Hacker Smith, Carol Hacker, and Colleen Hacker, Grandchildren; William Hacker Smith and Michael Alder Smith, and Great grandchild Terin Smith.
Funeral arrangements will be held Friday, September 11, 2015 at 10:00 am at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, Texas 77038
