John graduated from De La Salle High School. After high school he attended Tulane University, where he obtained his Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Following his education John had a career in engineering, where he worked for Westinghouse, South West Fabricating & Welding, Jacobs Engineering, and Mustang Engineering. John was devoted to his family. He also had a passion for hunting and fishing, camping, traveling, and target shooting. He was also a member of Tomball Gun Club and also the Bay Area Shooting Club. John also enjoyed watching sports, and was an Astros, Texans, and Rockets fan.
John was preceded in death by his father, John Francis Finn Sr. and mother Helen Gertrude Sherlock. He is also preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Nancy Finn.
John is survived by his two daughters, Michelle Kelly Finn of Kingwood, Texas; Betsy Finn Cochran and her husband Jim of Spring Texas; and his three grandchildren, Logan Robinson of Spring, Texas; Shelby Schneemann and husband Anthony of Tomball, Texas; and Zachary Robinson and wife Teaghan of Spring, Texas.
The family has made the decision for the purpose and safety for everyone due to COVID, we request that the ceremony be only for immediate family members.
