HE HAD TWO BROTHERS AND TWO SISTERS. HE WAS A VETERAN OF THE U.S. NAVY AND PROUDLY SERVED HIS COUNTRY FROM 1970 TO 1974.
HE IS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS PARENTS, JOHN P. BREWER SR. AND KATIE MAE DYE BREWER, HIS WIFE, KAREN BREWER, HIS SISTER, EMMA GAIL BREWER KING, AND HIS BROTHER-IN-LAW, TERRY WILCHER.
HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS CHILDREN, WENDI SCROGGINS, RYAN AND BECKY BREWER, TORRANCE AND MILLIE NETTLES, JEFFREY JOHNSON AND LATISE PETERS. HE IS ALSO SURVIVED BY HIS SISTER, DORA WILCHER, BROTHER, CHARLES BREWER AND WIFE DEBBIE, BROTHER, JEFFREY BREWER, BROTHER-IN-LAW, FRANK KING, AND NUMEROUS GRANDCHILDREN, NIECES, NEPHEWS, OTHER RELATIVES AND FRIENDS.
THE FAMILY WOULD ALSO LIKE TO GIVE SPECIAL THANKS TO JOHN AND SANDY ATHERTON FOR THE LOVE AND SUPPORT THEY GAVE TO JOHN AND KAREN OVER THE YEARS, AS WELL AS THE VANTAGE HOSPICE TEAM AND THE TRINITY CARE HOMES FAMILY FOR THE LOVE AND SUPPORT THEY GAVE OUR BROTHER WHEN WE COULDN’T BE THERE.
JOHN GRADUATED FROM CY-FAIR SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL AND WAS AN AVIATION ELECTRICIAN IN THE U.S. NAVY STATIONED ABOARD THE USS ORISKANY CV/CVA 34. HIS LAST EMPLOYER WAS INTERNATIONAL PAPER IN SEALY, TEXAS.
A visitation will be held at Chapel of Eternal Peace Funeral Home 2454 S. Dairy Ashford, on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 from 10:00am until 12:00pm followed by a graveside service at Houston National Cemetery
