Billie Eilish sings, “Things fall apart and time breaks your heart.” We understand all about things falling apart and broken hearts. Because on June 17th, our hearts were broken when our angel, Jocelyn Lisel Nungaray, gained her wings in heaven.
Jocelyn, born on December 27, 2011, was a Christmas baby who embodied the enchantment, joy, and magic of the Christmas season.
Is it any wonder she loved the enchanting tales of Harry Potter, where magic was woven on almost every page? But her love for the whimsical fantasy world extended beyond Harry Potter; Jocelyn was also drawn to the mystical allure of “Twilight” and the otherworldly charm of “Stranger Things.” In fact, she would often refer to Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard as her “forever husband,” yet another testament to her playful and loving spirit.
For those who knew and loved Jocelyn, her favorite color was always green - a symbol of her vibrant spirit and deep connection to nature. She will always be remembered as a loyal, compassionate and caring friend, always ready to share in their joys and support them through their struggles. Jocelyn's tender heart extended to all living beings, as she could never understand why there were so many stray animals. It was her sincere wish that every creature created by God had a loving home like she did - even a pigeon or two.
Though her time with us was tragically brief, Jocelyn's radiant kindness, boundless compassion, and infectious zest for life have left an indelible mark on everyone she touched.
She is survived by her mom, Lexi, her brother, and “sister” Gabby. She is also survived by her Mimi, Honey, Popo, Nana, and Pops. And numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, plus countless people who love her and will miss her.
Rest in peace, dear Jocelyn. Your light will continue to shine in our hearts, now with angel wings to guide us.
A celebration of life for Jocelyn will be held Thursday, June 27, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Earthman Resthaven, 13102 North Freeway, Houston, Texas 77060. Following the celebration of life will be a committal service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home and Cemetery, 13102 North Freeway, Houston, Texas 77060.
