Joann Elizabeth Viviani was born in Bryan, Tx on June 10, 1934, but was a lifelong resident of Houston, Tx. She died peacefully on May 6, 2023 at Bedford residency, Houston, TX with family at her side. She was preceded in death by her parents; Palma Cangemi Viviani and Paul Lee Viviani, Grandparents and numerous cousins. She was Granddaughter of Anthony and Josephine Cangemi who were founding members of St Michael Catholic Church. Joann was a member of St. Michael’s from 1957 until her death.
Joann attended Holy Rosary Catholic school, St. Agnes Academy, class of 53 and graduated from University of Houston with a BA in Advertising. She started her advertising career at Foley’s/Macey’s shortly after graduating from U of H and retired at the close of the downtown store after 40 years of service.
Traveling the US and the world was a passion of Joann’s. She visited most of it from shore to shore with family and friends. We will always remember Joan for her out going spirit and the love she shared with us all.
In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions may be made in her name to the St. Michael School library or your favorite charity.
Friends are invited to visitation with the family from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Thursday, May 11, 2023 with the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 1801 Sage Road, Houston, TX 77056, with a reception to follow at the church. The Rite of Committal to follow reception at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.
