Born in Houston, Texas, on January 16, 1932, she was united in marriage to Lynn E. Robinson, Jr. on April 17, 1947. Jo began her career in the mail room of an insurance company at the Cotton Exchange Building in downtown Houston. She retired as an insurance specialist with the same company after 38 years of service. In retirement, Jo spent her time with her children and grandchildren who were the pride and joy of her life.
Jo was preceeded in death by her parents, Ura Inez Irwin Marks, Vernon Melvin Marks, stepmother Lucille Amanda Marks and three brothers; V.M. Marks, Wilburn Marks, and Edgar Marks.
She is survived by her brother Larry Marks, three children; Kathy Lovett-Irvine and husband Billy, Kerry Robinson and wife Gayla, and Karen Peska; eight grandchildren Michelle Bilbo, James Lovett III, Lance Lovett, Kaylie Roy, Connor Peska, Kali Robinson, Kelsi Robinson, Kole Robinson; and five great-grandchildren Zane Bilbo, Mikayla Mikeska, James Lovett IV, Jessie Lovett and Darcie Roy.
A celebration of Jo’s life is planned for Thursday, November 4, 2021. Family and friends will be welcomed at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Easttex Freeway, Houston, Texas, 77039 for visitation at 1:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM at Brookside Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers are James Lovett III, Lance Lovett, Connor Peska, Kole Robinson, Zane Bilbo, Taylor Roy and Cameron Mikeska.
