He met Yolanda Cano in Houston and married on September 10, 1992. Jesse had a career in infrastructure, at Balfour Beatty for 29 years.
Jesse loved spending quality time with his family. Some of his many passions included watching his western shows, Astros and the history channel. He was a man’s man and worked to provide for his family. Jesse enjoyed hosting family holidays and events at his home.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Freddie Mendoza and Matia Navarro Jr.; sister, Ophella Navarr; and grandson, Joseph Pena.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Yolanda Cano Mendoza; sons: Jay Aranda (Angie and their children (Josh Aranda (Raena), Olivia Aranda, Alivia, Alayna, and Alexis Gonzalez), Paul Mendoza Sr. and his children (Paul Jr., Nicholas, and Tristan); one great granddaughter, Amira Rose Aranda. He is also survived by his brothers: George Mendoza (Josephine), Emilio Mendoza (Angelia), Johnny Mendoza (Lisa), sisters: Irene Barrientos, Carmen Briones (Shane), Virginia Diaz (Jr.), Eusebia Mendoza, Rosie Janzen (Kim), Vera Munoz (Adrian), Teresa Martinez, Elizabeth M. Dominguez; sisters in law, Olivia Velazquez (Sam) and Delores Cano, brother-in-law, Richard Cano (Carmen) as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
A visitation for Jesse will be held Tuesday, October 10, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary service scheduled to begin at 6:00 PM, Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. Final Viewing will be at 9am at Brookside Funeral Home with a procession for the funeral Mass, Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, 527 S Houston Ave, Humble, TX 77338 followed by burial at Brookside Memorial Park.
