The life portrait of Jesse Frank Hyde, Sr. is a picturesque of one of his favorite proverbs: "Give instruction to a wise man, and he will get wiser; teach a just man, and he will increase learning."--Proverbes 9:9His life journey began on March 23, 1927 to the parentage of Ms. Jeffery Singletary and Mr. Jim Hyde of Crockett, Texas.His youth is characterized by the cultural trend of the time of his day. He completed general education at the Crockett High School and continued his formal education at the Mary Allen College. He received an honorable discharge from the military.He accepted Christ in his youthful age at the AME Methodist Church. Later in life, he was introduced to the apostolic doctrine of holiness and the baptism in Jesus' name under the leadership of District Elder Willie E. Gibson of the Greater Emmanuel Family Worship Center. He served as a faithful and loyal member in many roles of leading ministries: Head Deacon, Chairman of the Trustee Board, Sunday School Superintendent, Choir member, Bus Driver and Pastor's helper as needed.He served as the Assistant Superintendent of the Texas State Council of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. He was also Chaplain of the Houston Alliance Ministerial Association for many years.As he continued to grow spiritually, the Lord led him and his wife (overseer Essie Hyde) to found and establish the Apostolic One Way Ministry on 9314 Hirsch Road, where he served as Pastor, Co-Pastor and other leadership roles faithfully until his health failed.He is preceded in death by his mother, Ms. Jeffrey Singletary; father, Mr. Jim Hyde; daughter, Shirley Faye Clark and granddaughter, Kendel Hyde.He leaves to mourn many cherished memories by wife, Overseer Essie M. Hyde of 57 years; six children; Jesse F. Hyde, Jr. (rose) of Kennard, Texas; Mary L. West (Willie); Bishop Alton Hyde (Glenda); Pastor Bernita Heath (James); Cynthia Craigs (Richard); Coetha Reynolds (Anthony) all of Houston, Texas; 1 sister: Dorothy Chavers of Crockett, Texas.Sixteen grandchildren: Reverend Doral Richard, Lamoncia Jones, Ahmad Hyde, Jawane Hyde, Marcus West (Nicole), Surtanna Hyde, Ericka Hyde, Stephanie Hyde, Jordan Brazell, Chezney Reynolds, Jayla Reynolds, Meagan Washington, Jakoby Bell, Nedra Edwards and Cedric Hyde; twenty great-grandchildren, four brother-in-laws: Robert Branch (Shonza), Johnny Branch, Albert Branch (Bertha), L.V. Barnch (Mary) all of Houston, Texas; four sister-in-laws: Minnie Ola Branch, Dr. Johnnie B. Hines and Dr. Carrie L. Stewart all of Houston, Texas and Willie Mae Branch of Lufkin, Texas and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives, a loving church family and friends.
