Jerry was born May 21st, 1945, and was the beloved son of George Harbold, Rose Gabaldon and Jose Gabaldon. He grew up in East Los Angeles until he enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 22. Sgt. Jerry C. Harbold valued his service to our country and attained the rank of E5 Sergeant. As part of his service, he completed training in Turret Arty Rpmn/USAOC&S/13/68, BATTLE INDOC, CODE OF COND & CRS B UCMJ. He was honored with NDSM VSM W/BSS RVNCM W/ 60 Dev, SPS QUAL BADGE O/S BARS (2) RVN VN Counteroffensive Phase and TETCO 69. He proudly served in Vietnam from June 12th, 1968, thru June 11th, 1969. Sgt. Jerry C. Harbold was honorably discharged from The United States Army. He continued his education at the University of Houston where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering and a Certificate in Automotive Repair.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Dina Harbold, of 55 years, 3 children Nick, Michael, and Tracey, and grandchildren Meagan, Brianna, Marissa, and Adrian. His brother Raymond Gabaldon, and sister-in-law Tona Gabaldon. His sister Francis Vasquez, and brother-in-law Miguel Vasquez. Preceded in by Ruby Archuleta and brother-in-law Elroy Archuleta. His loved ones will remember how Jerry loved to help anyone that came across his path. No one was a stranger, and if they became a friend, they remained a friend for life.
A visitation for Jerry will be held Wednesday, July 19, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. A funeral service will occur Thursday, July 20, 2023 at 11:00 AM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. A graveside will occur Thursday, July 20, 2023 at 12:45 PM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, Texas 77038.
Serving as pallbearers are Gabriel Olivares, Chris Lopez, Johnny Hinojosa, Johnny Vega, Leo Luna, Mario Macias, Matthew Pompa and John Ortega.
