Jay Robert Coursey

Jay Robert Coursey was born February 20th, 1967 in Houston, Texas to Jack and Grace Coursey. He was called to his heavenly home on June 14th, 2021 after suffering massive organ failure caused by an uncontrolled bacterial infection. Jay was baptized and his early schooling was at Trinity Lutheran Church and School.

Jay graduated from Aldine High School in 1985 and moved to Austin, Texas for 5 years and worked for The State of Texas before returning to Houston. Shortly thereafter he landed his dream job with GE Oil & Gas where he worked for 16 years before retiring. In retirement he worked occasional contract work as an insurance photographer.

Jay was friendly, outgoing, and always ready to lend a helping hand to whoever asked as a neighbor often did. He enjoyed camping at Garner State Park, visits to the farm, horse racing, barbeques, his dogs Pepper and Ollie, his jeep, fishing, and watching sunsets with his fiancée'.

Jay is survived by his parents, Jack Coursey and Grace Ann Myrick; his fiancée' Jody Carter; his sisters, Cindy Marches and husband Richard Marches, and Elizabeth Myrick.

Funeral services will be held at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas on Monday, June 21st at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place immediately after the service.
