James was born on September 28, 1947 to Albert and Margaret Stuchly in Corpus Christi, TX and grew up in Robstown, TX. He attended Corpus Christi Minor Seminary during high school years and two years of college. During the summer months, he worked as a bricklayer building St. Ambrose's second church in Houston, TX. He eventually moved to Houston in 1966. Soon thereafter he went to work at B&C Construction Company. During his career in construction, he held many various roles in the steel building construction industry until he retired.
Anyone who knew James knew that he was the most loving father and brother a family could ask for. He was also a devoted Catholic and parishioner at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus. James had many hobbies, including reading, studying history and traveling and was always up for a good poker game with friends. He had a contagious laughter that would fill a room and he will be missed by all.
James is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Margaret Stuchly and survived by his only child, Sarah Millice and her husband David; 2 grandchildren, Parker Millice and Connor Millice; 5 siblings, Richard Stuchly, Fran Freeman and her husband Mark, Michael Stuchly, Stephen Stuchly, and Mary Gonzalez and her husband Roland; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends and family.
