Jim was born to Hazen Earnest Schuyler and Donna Larter Schuyler on May 19, 1938 in San Bernadino, California. He is survived by Carol Schuyler, his wife of 27 years; his children, Dan Schuyler and wife, Sylvia, Elizabeth de la Vara and husband, Mychael, Shelly Thompson, Debbie Urban and husband, Tim; his grandchildren, Trinity Schuyler, Stephanie de la Vara and husband, Ralph, Nickolas de la Vara, Rylie Urban, Landie Urban, Chaynie Urban, and Hudson Urban; great-grandchild, Jayde de la Vara and brother, John Schuyler and wife, Midge.
Jim graduated from Herbert Hoover High School in California and joined the Navy in 1958, serving honorably for four years. Most of his career was with PTS Laboratories, where he served 41 years, primarily as an Engineer Technologist.
Jim had a very inquisitive mind and was an avid reader. He liked to know the history of places and why various things were invented. He studied geology and collected rocks and sea shells.
Jim loved the Lord and was a long-time member of Houston First Baptist Church. He was a loving, dedicated and faithful husband, and a proud father and grandfather. He genuinely loved people and was gracious and kind to everyone he met.
We will miss Jim, but will cherish his memory forever in our hearts.
