James Karl Schmidt, 81, of Houston, Texas passed away December 5, 2015. He was born in Chickasha, Oklahoma on July 13, 1934. James was married to Merrillyn Dian Schmidt for 52 loving years. He had a career in carpentry then later building inspection. James had a passion for fishing, hunting and his family. He is survived by his wife Merrillyn Diane Schmidt and his children James Luke Schmidt and Rachelle Dian Schmidt. A memorial service will be held Thursday, December 10, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Westway Baptist Church, 11207 Perry Road, Houston, Texas 77064
