James E. Davis

James Ed Davis (Jim, Jimmy), died May 18, 2011 at Memorial Hermann Hospital from complications surrounding a recent cancer diagnosis. Jimmy was born in Temple, Texas on July 23, 1936 to William Bennett Davis and Clarice Erline Davis. He spent his childhood in Austin, Texas and attended the University of Texas at Austin. He moved to Henderson, Texas to work in the oil field business where he met and married Nora Sue Rettig. They were married for 39 years. She predeceased him on January 18, 2001. James worked for Tenneco Inc. in the property tax department for 28 years. He is survived by his daughter Teressa Sink, grandchildren Morgan, Erin and Griffin Sink, brother, Barry Davis of Austin, brother and sister in law Clyde and Diana Rettig, and brother in law Lane Coffey husband of his predeceased sister Gayle Coffey.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 20 2011 from 5-8pm with a celebration of life at 6:30pm. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Memorial Oaks Cemetery at 11am.
