James H. Connell

Herschell attended St. Pius X High School in Houston. After graduation, he served in the Army. Once discharged, he went to work for Sears where he was a long time employee. While there, he made lifelong friends. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He adored his family and loved spending time with them. He taught his children to love sports and he was a coach for the Spring Branch Memorial Sports Association. He will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy and Hazel Connell, and his brother, John Connell. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mickey; his son Noel and his wife Brandi; his daughter Susie Rampersaud and her husband Sunil; his son Pete and his wife Molly; and six grandchildren Audrey, India, Sailor, Daniel, Samantha, and Benjamin. Other survivors include niece Mary Connell, nephew Scott Connell and his wife Brenda, great-niece Morgan, great-nephew Scott Jr., and a host of family and friends.

The family will be present for visitation on Monday, July 4, 2011 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM with a rosary to at 6:30 PM at St. Jerome Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 11:00 AM also St. Jerome Catholic Church with Father Joseph Doran, celebrant. Interment a Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made at First Community Credit Union in an account for Micaela Connell.
