James Patrick Berryman, age 55 passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023. Born in Houston, Texas, he was a loving son, brother, father and friend. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Patricia Berryman and most recently the love of his life, wife Melony Alayna Berryman.
He is survived by siblings, Mary Kathleen Stoy and husband Bobby, Shannon Dale Acreman and husband Mike and William Casey Berryman and wife Sandra; son Parker Moore; mother-in-law, Carolyn Moore Aunt Mary Varghese and husband Abe, Aunt Martha Robinson; Uncle Bill Berryman and wife Margaret; life-long friend, Stacy Sutter and wife, Kay; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
James attended the University of Texas at San Antonio where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration-Accounting. He would go on to work for Waukesha-Pearce Industries in Houston, Texas for 27 years as Director of Accounting until March of 2019 when he was promoted to Director Controller.
Jim participated in cross country and track at McCullough High School in The Woodlands, Texas and then continued his interest of cross country at University of Texas at San Antonio. In 1985 at McCullough High School, Jim held the best time for the 2000 meter steeplechase event and currently holds the record to this day.
Jim loved the outdoors and was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman. He spent many years tailgating at the Houston Texans games and entertaining and cooking for his family, friends and neighbors. He enjoyed a distinguished tasting bourbon and was gifted in grilling the perfect steak. He was a big fan of the UTSA Roadrunners his alma mater, Texas Longhorns, Houston Astros and the Houston Texans.
Jim's family request that everyone dress either in Astros attire or orange/blue attire for the funeral services.
