Mr. Wade was born in Loxley, Alabama where he went to school until the 9th grade, leaving to go to work and take care of his family and then later to enter the Navy. Mr. Wade later received an honorary diploma from the government for his sacrifice.
He married his wife, Louisa Raye Wade, whom passed away in September 2017, on October 30, 1948 and they moved a short while later to Houston, Texas and lived there where he worked as a machinist and tool maker until he retired in 1990 and moved back to Alabama where he resided in Foley, until his passing.
He is survived by his children; Jack R. Wade Jr. of Grapeland, Texas; Gwen Rinkenberger and Richard (Helen) Wade, all of Foley, Alabama; five grandchildren; James Wade, Terra Wade, Tiffany Franklin, David Hall II, and Samantha Wade; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; many other loving relatives and friends.
He loved working with his hands and making things. He was very proud of serving in the United States Navy.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 27, 2017 at 10:30am with a funeral service to follow at 12:00pm at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038. A committal service will be held at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery on Tuesday, March 27, 2017 at 1:30pm at 13102 North Freeway, Houston, Texas 77060.
