Jack Caravella, born December 14, 1918 in Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully, September 11, 2010, at the age of 91. He is preceded in death by his son, Jackie and his parents Jack and Sarah Caravella. Jack was welcomed by his parents and by his loving son who greeted him with open arms after 60 years. This reunion put a smile on his face.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Rose Mary; daughter Mary Jo May and husband Bob; grandsons Vincent May and wife Melissa, Alan May and wife Lissa, Anthony May; granddaughter Dawn Moody and husband James; great grandchildren Tanner Jack May, Jake May, Jacqueline Prince, Jessica Prince, Avery May and Ariel May and Ariel May.
Jack worked in the construction industry and started his own business, Caravella Waterproofing in 1956, he retired in 1985. He was a loving husband and the best father and grandfather anyone could ask for. He idolized his grandchildren and played an important role in their lives. He was instrumental in teaching his grandsons to become serious hunters and fisherman. His love for his wife and family was immeasurable. Daddy and Po Po, we love you and will carry you in our hearts all of our lives.
The family will receive friends for a visitation at Pat H. Foley Funeral Directors from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, September 17th with the rosary recited at 7:00 pm. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 18th at the chapel of Pat H. Foley Funeral Directors, committal service will follow at Forest Park Lawndale. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Leukemia Society.
