Howell Marshall McMahon, 101, of Meadows Place, Texas, passed away on October 14, 2024. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on December 1, 1922. He graduated from Alcee Fortier High School in 1938. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy during WWII and served from 1942-1945 in London, England.
After his honorable discharge from the Navy, he attended Loyola University Business School with a 2-year certificate in Bookkeeping.
He married Maxine Denise Roques on May 29, 1948, at Saint Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church in New Orleans. The family relocated to Houston, Texas, in 1951 where they raised their 7 children. His career in bookkeeping/accounting spanned approximately 55 years.
He is survived by his 7 children: Chris/Gale, Howell T., Robin/Deacon Sandy Sites, Jon/JoHelen Roelofs, Therese, Leslie, and Roger. He was blessed with 9 grandchildren: Nathan, William, Gregory Marshall, Alex, Stacy, Elizabeth, Aaron, Anson, and Blake. Additionally, he has 14 great-grandchildren. He had many nieces and nephews, of special note is Branson Hunter.
He was an active member at St. Matthew the Evangelist Catholic Church until he relocated to an Assisted Living Facility due to his wife’s failing health.
He is predeceased by his wife, Maxine, his parents John Timothy McMahon and Mary Ellen Marshall of New Orleans and his two sisters Lucille and Leah.
Visitation and Memorial services will be held Tuesday, October 22nd at Funeraria Del Angel-Crespo from 9-11am, located at 2516 Navigation Blvd, Houston, Texas 77003.
Interment to follow at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale St., Houston, Texas 77023 at 12pm.
