Herbert Douglas “H.D.” Pruett was born in Sand Grove, Milam County, Texas, on December 23, 1914, and died November 2, 2010. He was 95 years of age. He is preceded in death by an infant son, Doyle Ray; daughter, Edith Elaine Pruett; and by his eldest son, Donald Lee Pruett. He is survived by his loving wife and sweetheart, Edith Louise Pruett; two sons Herbert Wayne Pruett and wife Joan, of Spring, Texas; Alfred Leon Pruett and wife Cindy, of Nacogdoches, Texas; grandchildren, Pam Viereck, Dina Clifton, Kevin Pruett, Carrie Pruett McCaslin; great-grandchildren, Kyle Clifton, Taylor Steinecke, Morgan Steinecke, Kyla Viereck, Mathew McCaslin, Abigail McCaslin, Rebecca McCaslin, Hannah McCaslin. Herbert Douglas or “H.D.” as he was known by his fellow workers was a 40 year employee of Hughes Tool Company in Houston, Texas, having retired from there on January 1st, 1977. Douglas was a devoted and loving husband and father. He and Edith were wed October 16, 1937. He had an unwavering faith in God.
