Helena Marie Ebow Kerr was born to the union of Alcee Ebow and Anita Landry Ebow on April 19, 1941 in Parks, Louisiana. She was the 4th daughter of 10 children. She was baptized and accepted Jesus Chris at a very young age at St. Louis Chapel Catholic Church in Parks, Louisiana.
Her primary educational years were spent in Parks, Louisiana. She was a member of the 1959 graduating class of George Washington Carver High School in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. She relocated to Houston, Texas in 1961 where she lived for the remainder of her life.
Helena was the proud mother of two sons, Hubert L. Kerr, Jr. and Christopher L. Kerr. She was a devoted wife to Hubert L. Kerr Sr. (deceased) for twenty-eight years.
Helena worked for the Harris County Tax Office for 42 years and retired in 2006. Since her retirement Helena has enjoyed going to the many different casinos in Louisiana & Missouri, traveling to visit and participate in her grandchildren's events and attending church Mass regularly.
She was a current member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Humble, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alcee and Anita Ebow, a sister Savannah Roy and brothers Joseph, Phillip, John and Richard Ebow.
She leaves to cherish in her memory her beloved sons Hubert “Jr” and daughter-in-law Anastasia, from Webster Groves, Missouri. Grandson Gabe, granddaughters Dasia and Alena. Christopher and daughter-in-law Cindy. Grandson, Chris Jr., and granddaughters, Chelsee, Kiersten and Angel. Sisters Barbara, Margaret and Geneva and one brother Adley and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
