Helen Ruth Miller

Helen Ruth Miller, age 91, of Mckinney, Texas passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021. Helen was born on July 11, 1930 to parents Ruby Rowe Mann and Lester Earl Mann. Helen spent her favorite childhood years in California, in a farm house at Forest Ranch. Her mom was a school teacher. Some of Helen’s shared memories were of how she and her siblings would help their mom straighten and clean the classroom at the end of classes. Helen graduated high school, graduated nursing school in 1954, and became a registered nurse. She was a faithful member of the Church of Nazarene for many years, as well as a member of Faith Family Church, after moving to Victoria, TX, where she lived with her daughter Ruthie Jones. Helen had a passion and love for children, as shown by her service in her church nursery, where she watched and taught children for many years. Church was a very high priority and an integral part of Helen’s life, and her church family was dearly loved. Besides children, she loved gardening and pets.

Helen is preceded in death by her loving husband James Harvey Miller and her sister Betty Grace Caldwell. She is survived by her children Karen Mercer, Jim Miller, Ruthie Jones, Paul Miller; siblings Lawrence Dale Mann, Doris Jean Henderson; parents Ruby Rowe Mann and Lester Earl Mann; 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

A visitation for Helen will be held Monday, January 10, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will occur Monday, January 10, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A burial will occur Monday, January 10, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
