Helen Belk Ledbetter died on 4/2/13. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Mitchem Alton Ledbetter, her parents, Helen and Gene Belk, and her brother and sister, Gene Belk Jr. and Mary Dwyer. Helen was born in Houston, November 21, 1922 and had lived in Houston all of her life, except for 2-1/2 years when she lived in Stamford, Connecticut, on a job assignment with Conoco Inc. She took early retirement from Conoco in 1985 after 40 years of service. Helen graduated from Reagan Senior High School, where she was a snare drummer in the Reagan Red Coats, and also attended the University of Houston. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Wilson; her son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Janice Ledbetter; her grandchildren: Andy and Becca Wilson, Candace and Courtney Ledbetter, and many dear and loving nieces, nephews and friends. Helen was a member of First Baptist Church Spring Branch for over 50 years. Visitation and Funeral Services will be at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1-2 pm, and the funeral service will follow at 2 pm.
