Helen Marie Hester

Helen and her husband moved to Houston in 1952. Helen worked at Spring Branch Christian Church during the 1960's and 1970's taking care of babies on Sunday's and then at Mother's Day Out.

She married Earlin Brown Hester, Jr. on December 2, 1948, they had 57 loving years together until his passing on February 25, 2006. Also preceding Helen in death are her parents, John Eddie Pitt and Nannie Mai Pitt; sisters, Jean Teems and Ann Dreson, brother, Carroll Dean Pitt and daughter, Catherine Dianne Strong. Survived by her son, Roger Dale Hester, son and longtime caregiver John Earlin Hester; grandson, Billy Strong; granddaughter, Tina Marie Strong and four great-great grandchildren, Ashley, Sara, Jamie and Steven. Also surviving is brother, John Edward Pitt and sister, Betty Jo Grant.

Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, April 24, 2017 at Waltrip Funeral Directors. Services will be 2:00 .m., Tuesday, in the Waltrip Chapel. Interment will follow in Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
