I miss Hal so much. I love him and hope he is watching CNN in heaven.

Loved Dr. Waldrop. He delivered my son in 1984. It was a difficult delivery. He stayed with me and slept in a spare room during the night. I am sure he is missed.  RIP

My memories of Hal are still with me. Will always think fondly of him.

I have had Hal in my thoughts these last few days. I ran across a note he wrote me at one point in my employment with him.  I will always have wonderful memories. 

Dr Waldrep was my doctor for many years.  I just heard today if his passing.    He was a great doctor and wonderful listener to me.  He got me through some difficult times

I am sorry to hear if his passing 


My wife and I have been saddened at the passing of Dr Waldrep, whom we regard as a giant in his field of medical practice. Not only was Dr Waldrep a most excellent physician, he also was a true and caring gentleman. He delivered our daughter 31 years ago, and she is now following in his footsteps as she is near completion of third year at Dell Medical School, University of Texas at Austin. He helped my wife through three very difficult miscarriages after our daughter’s birth, and I believe that his very skilled and careful work helped set the stage for my wife to become pregnant at age 47 with our son, who is now 16 and a strong healthy young man. He also skillfully helped my elderly mom through some late-in-life women’s medical issues, which helped her have many more years of good health. Dr Waldrep helped three generations of my family with excellent skilled health care, always with a caring personal touch, for which we are deeply grateful. We cannot say enough good about this great man and all the good he has done for so many. He did so much good for my family, and that is just a tiny part of his medical and personal caring legacy. May God continue to bless Dr Waldrep, and comfort his loved ones with nothing but good memories of this great man.

He was the most compassionate Doctor, I ever been associated with. My story is not a happy one. I went in for a routine visit. At that visit, we found out that my baby no long had a heartbeat. He immediately gave me his office and came in and told me about the baby he and his wife lost so many years ago. He took care to make sure I had all the support I needed. I thought about him today, and was surprised too see that he’s no longer with us. RIP good doctor.

I thought about Dr. Waldrep this morning for some reason and discovered he is no longer with us. My sincere condolences to the family.  He was a very caring doctor.  I was very young when I had my first born at the age of 19. He always made me feel comfortable and was so friendly.  He delivered my son September 21, 1982 and my daughter January 15, 1986.  My daughter will be delivering her 4th child in May, maybe that's why he popped in my mind.

I, too, loved Dr. Waldrep.  We lived down the street from him in Lake Highlands.  He was a doctor from a different era, where he took the time to counsel as well as practice medicine.  When I found out (surprisingly) that I was pregnant with my second child, he gave me a Bible verse and told me it was going to be ok.  I'm so thankful that he was the one to deliver all of my three children, and still think of him from time to time.  God bless his family.


I often think of Dr. Waldrep. He was a wonderful doctor and was also a kind friend to his patients. He helped our family with his skill and compassion, and we will forever be grateful. He is still alive in my memory, and his example encourages me to be a better person.

May he rest in peace. 

Dr. Waldrep was THE best OBGYN and an answer to my prayers. His skill as a surgeon enabled my husband and I to have our two beautiful children, both of whom he delivered in April 2001 and August 2003. In fact, my daughter was one of the last c-sections he performed at Baylor in his practice. As my daughter is coming to the age of 18 we were talking about what you want to find in a really phenomenal doctor. Of course, Dr. Hal was the first person I thought of immediately. That’s what brought me here. He’s an angel looking over countless babies and children who are now looking at having their own children. That’s an incredible legacy. I miss him. 

I just now found out Dr. Waldrep
passed away last year. He was a wonderful doctor, he delivered my  daughter and my oldest granddaughter. My daughter and I were sad when he left and moved to the Woodlands we really missed him. He was a wonderful and caring man.

WOW! Dr Waldrep has been on my mind for years and I was thinking about him. So,  I looked up his name knowing he moved back to Houston, but did not expect to see an obituary.  He was so caring and personable..He delivered all 3 of my babies and took such good care of us. I've always said I hope he's still around when I have grandchildren.  My heart goes out to his family. Dr Waldrep was highly regarded by my sister, myself & numerous others.  My sister was referred by nurses from another hospital. My first visit to him was the first time I was actually diagnosed, and he had just been to a seminar about the syndrome. While I was his patient, another patient, pregnant,  flew in every month to see him, and the last few months of her pregnancy she spent in Baylor. The lady was flying in from Australia. My heartfelt sympathies on your loss of this great man.

Dr. Waldrep delivered both of my babies. And helped me through a miscarriage.  He had to give me some upsetting news once & I was so distraught that he canceled the rest of his appointments and sat with me in his office.  Dr. Waldrep was not just a great doctor, but a great person. I am very sorry for the family's loss.  

Dr. Waldrep  delivered my twenty year old daughter. He was so compassionate and assured me he’d take care of me. He did. After the delivery he told me my baby weighed 340grams (12oz). He said, “I think she’s smaller but that’s as low as our scales go.” He made it seem like it was an everyday occurrence to deliver such a tiny baby.  He showed no fear, which strengthened me. His care, dedication and compassion will be missed. I’m sorry for your loss. 

Dr Waldrep was my obgyn as well as most of the women in my family, sister, cousins, aunts and daughters.  He cried with me when I lost a baby.  He was a wonderful doctor! 
So sorry for your loss. He has been and will be missed on many levels.
