Harold Stewart Cropper

Harold Stewart Cropper, 94, of Houston, Texas, was born on September 30, 1916 to Rosa and Charles Cropper in Campbell County Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2011. Harold is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Wendell and Paul; sisters, Imongene, Norma and Velma. Harold met the love of his life Betty Hutcheson whom he married in Bristol, VA on October 20, 1951. Harold was involved in many organizations. He was past president of The Rotary Club of River Oaks, Arabia Shrine Drum Corps, Admin Board Memorial Drive United Methodist Church, past president of SCORE, Jr. Chamber of Commerce Award of Distinguished Service Bristol, VA 1948, past pres Jr. Chamber of Commerce Bristol, VA, 1st Lt. 1st Armor 772 Tank Batallion WWII European Theater. He worked for the Sherwin Williams Co. from 1935-1981 holding numerous management positions. Harold leaves his loving wife of 59 years Betty Hutcheson Cropper wife, his sons Stewart & wife Joyce Cropper, Keefe & wife Tina Cropper, Mike & wife Donna Cropper, Grandchildren: Peter, Emily, Amanda, Michael, Josh, Stephen, Cole and Jocelyn Cropper. Memorial Services celebrating Harold’s life will be Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at 1:30 P.M. at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church, 12955 Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77079, with Rev. Dr. Gene Cragg officiating.
