Gregg served as a sergeant in the Army, serving in the Vietnam War and in the Army Corp of Engineers, immediately following his high school graduation in 1965. He then moved to Texas to work for Shell Oil Company where he retired after over 30 years of service. Gregg enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors, as well as woodworking and building all sorts of things. He loved his family dearly and accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior in December 1992.
He is preceded in death by his parents Harold Heacock and Thurley Maple; brother Robert William Heacock; and his daughter Christina Rae Heacock.
Gregg is survived by his wife Linda Heacock; children Michelle Knowlton (Darin), Heather Bogardus (Tim), and Lisa Brodie (Scott); grandchildren Chelsey, Paige, Ellie, Bryan, and Sloan; great-grandchildren Cameron, Ryder and Raylynn; brothers John Heacock (Marge), Bill Maple (Janet) and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
An Honor Service for Gregg will be held at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX, on Sunday, October 24, 2021, at 3:00 pm, with Rev. Walter Brumley officiating. A light luncheon reception will follow the service at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home.
