Grace Elise Gooden

Grace Elise Simpson-Gooden was born January 19, 1960 in Kansas City, Missouri. She was the third child born to Ervin and JoAnna Simpson. Both parents proceeded her in death.

Grace attended public schools in Kansas City, Missouri graduating from Southeast High School, in the class of 1978. Grace attended one year of college at Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Missouri.

Grace was baptized at an early age at Southside First Baptist Church by Reverend Fred W. Johnson. Grace later became a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church of Grandview, Missouri under the pastorate of Dr. Donald Duwayne Ford, I.

Grace loved working with people and Grace loved to travel.

Grace's proudest family moments were her marriage to Rodney I. Gooden in 1983 and the birth of her two children Elise Nicole Gooden and Rodney Ira Gooden II. She was equally as proud of her three grandchildren. They meant the world to her and were the source of endless joy.

Grace leaves her husband of 35 years Rodney I. Gooden, her daughter Elise Nicole Gooden, son Rodney Ira Gooden II, and three grandchildren - Trinity, Roderick and Aubriella. She is survived by one brother, Mark Simpson (Lenita) and two sisters Gail Rowles (Michael) and Marsha Young, in addition to a host of family and friends. Her memories will be cherished and she will be missed by many.
